Where is BeatAscend?

It’s been some time since our last blog… BeatAscend is NOT abandoned, we just haven’t posted any new blogs.
Since then, we’ve internally re-iterated BeatAscend, again.
We have a good reason for it:
We’re a really small team, and our experience with game development has been improving alongside BeatAscend.
BeatAscend, its code, identity, philosophy and several other things have gone through a huge amount of evolution. Each time we wrote an iteration of BeatAscend, time passed and our development skills have improved by then. We noticed its flaws and decided we rather rewrite things than release a crappy demo. Now, whether we should or shouldn’t have done that is up to you to decide.
I’m going to answer some questions people might have regarding this game.
When is BeatAscend going to be released?
We don’t have an official release date, but expect the alpha to release hopefully sometime next year, but don’t mark my word for it.
Why is the game taking so long to make?
Game development is not as easy as some people make it out to be. And when you have only a few developers working on a game with a reaaaally high scope and a small budget, having academic, family and life things that members of our team have to take care of: it will take a long time to finish the game.
What is BeatAscend?
BeatAscend is a rhythm game where you guide a triangular shape through flowing roads/paths synced with music, not to mention, charters will be able to build some sick experiences through our Lua API.
If someone interrogated me and asked to make a sketch of BeatAscend, I’d draw something like:

Terrible sketch, I know. We’re leaving better sneak peaks for later, so stay tuned.😉
Why is there such a lack of blogs?
We’re too focused on the development of BeatAscend, our apologies; we’ll try to be more consistent.
Even though we don’t say anything, we’re rewriting and refactoring things, updating assets, adding new features, improving infrastructure or architecture; we’re working to bring BeatAscend to life, even if it doesn’t seem like it from the outside perspective.
